The Epi-Log on Epicurious: Chefs Move! Update
Earlier this year, John Besh blogged about his Chefs Move! program and this year’s scholarship recipient, Syrena Johnson. We just wanted to give you an update that this week she graduated from the International Culinary Center and is on her way back to New Orleans to work a paid internship at Restaurant August.
Johnson was the first winner of the scholarship, which sent her to New York City for culinary training. In March, John wrote on the Epi-Log: “I don’t know what the future will hold for her, but I know it is now one full of promise and one that has already inspired her to come back to New Orleans in an effort to help others feel both valued and inspired to pursue their passions using God-given talent to the fullest.”
