Make a winter-special sweet delight at home with Fortune Besan

  • ¼ cup Ghee
  • 1 cup Fortune Besan
  • 2 tbsp Rava / sooji (fine)
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • ¼ cup Water
  • ¼ tsp Elaichi powder
  • 2 tbsp Kaju (finely chopped)


  • Grease a plate or baking tray and line it with baking paper.
  • Take a large kadai and heat the ghee. Roast the besan and rava on low flame.
  • Keep stirring continuously and let them combine well. There should be no lumps.
  • Keep the flame on low and till it turns into paste and becomes aromatic.
  • Keep aside once it turns golden brown.
  • Time to take another pan. Add in the water and sugar.
  • Boil it for about eight minutes and let the sugar dissolve completely.
  • Check for one string consistency. Keep boiling till you achieve.
  • Once done, transfer into the besan mixture. Do this with the flame off.
  • Keep stirring and to make sure it mixes well and thickens.
  • Here, add the cardamom powder and mix well.
  • After mixing, transfer the dough into the greased plate and let it set.
  • Garnish with the cashews. Press lightly if you need to.
  • Let it set completely. It should take about thirty minutes or more.
  • Once done, unmould and cut in the desired shape.
